In September 2018 I travelled to Slovakia with Kia, where I tested a new hybrid edition of the Kia Sportage fitted with 48-volt technology. This was one of the first products on the market to use this level of electrical assistance – mid-way between full hybrids operating at hundreds of volts and conventional cars running at just 12 volts. I filed the story for consumer technology site Pocket-lint.
I tested the second-generation Nissan Leaf in Scotland and wrote about the car at GreenMotor, a blog I set up in 2007.
I was among the first journalists to drive the Tesla Model S electric car in the UK, filing this report for consumer technology site Recombu Cars in April 2014.
